Jordan Office - Intern

AMMAN, JORDAN /PROGRAMS – MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA /INTERN


Position Summary

 

Search for Common Ground is seeking a professional, motivated and creative intern to join our Jordan team. Based in Amman, Jordan, the intern will provide support to Search’s Jordan programming under the supervision of the Project Manager. The internship offers an excellent opportunity for interns to develop professional skills in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Interns must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) and must commit for at least 3 months. We are looking for an intern to begin as soon as possible. This is a paid internship program, interns will be receiving a $500 stipend per month. 


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties include:

Support project implementation for ongoing Jordan projects through maintenance of grants management tracking tools (i.e. reporting trackers, and start-up and close-out trackers).

Assist with high-quality English language draft and reviews for donor reports, project evaluations, and midline and end line assessments.

Contribute to the development of grant proposals.  

Translate documents as needed from English to Arabic and vice versa.

Assist with online communication updates, including visibility pieces for social media, compiling success stories, and staff reflections/interviews.

Provide general logistical support as required including support for trainings, special events and visits for international guests and staff.

Travel inside the country to provide support to field activities when needed.

Perform other supportive duties as needed.


Qualifications

 

 You meet the following qualifications:

 

 Education

 

BA or MA (completed or in progress) in international relations, conflict resolution, Middle East studies, international development or a related field.

 

 Experience

 

Prior international or cross-cultural experience.

Some prior field experience would be considered an asset.

Creative English report writing.

M&E knowledge is a plus.

 

Skills and Competencies

 

Required 


Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in English (native or near-native) and advanced knowledge of Arabic.

Familiarity with the Jordanian context.

Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation.

Ability to live in Amman, Jordan.

Comfort in cross-cultural contexts.

Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with minimal supervision.

Self-starter, able to work independently, and willing to take on tasks small and large. 

Ability to work well under pressure with strong attention to details.

Excellent computer skills (including Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

Duration: We are looking for interns who can join our team for a minimum 3-month period with a possibility to extend the duration to 6-months.
